The AEM 14000 (AEM1-4000) Dryflow pre-filter wrap is a black, hydrophobic micro-screen cover that shields Dryflow air filters from water, mud and fine debris while keeping airflow restriction minimal.
Built from a tough, micro-mesh fabric treated with AEM’s proprietary water-repellent finish, this pre-filter slip-on is designed to sit over compatible Dryflow element(s) to reduce the chance of contamination from splashes, dust and light mud without significantly affecting intake performance. Its universal-fit design lets you use the wrap on a range of Dryflow filters for off-road, rally, marine or dusty-road conditions where added surface protection is desirable.
The wrap forms an outer barrier that sheds liquid and traps small particulates before they reach the main Dryflow element. Because the material is engineered to be hydrophobic, water beads and runs off the surface instead of soaking into the filter media.
The AEM wrap is designed to add very little flow restriction; its open micro-mesh structure balances protection with breathability. For most everyday and off-road uses it will not create noticeable power loss, though extremely restrictive setups should be evaluated case by case.
Installation is straightforward: slip the wrap over the Dryflow filter and secure it so the entire intake face is covered. Cleaning is simple — rinse with water and mild detergent, avoid oil-based treatments, and let it dry fully before reinstallation.
The pre-filter excels in environments where water spray, mud splatter or airborne fine dust threaten the primary filter. It’s especially useful for off-road, rainy, construction-site or coastal use where extra surface protection extends service intervals.
Who is this for: Drivers and vehicle owners who already use AEM Dryflow filters and want an added protective layer to reduce contamination from water, mud and fine dirt without significantly compromising airflow. It’s a practical accessory for off-road enthusiasts, rally teams, marine operators, and anyone operating in wet or dusty conditions who needs a quick, washable barrier to keep their intake system cleaner between service intervals.
Q: Is this pre-filter compatible with my Dryflow filter?
A: Yes — it’s a universal-fit wrap meant to slip over AEM Dryflow elements; check size compatibility with your specific Dryflow model.
Q: How do I clean the AEM Dryflow wrap?
A: Rinse with water and mild soap, avoid oils, then air-dry completely before reinstalling.
