AiBOB Oil Spill Mat 60 x 40 in - Waterproof Rubber Backing, Absorbent Polyester Top

AiBOB Oil Spill Mat is a 60" x 40" washable garage pad with a waterproof rubber backing and a super-absorbent polyester top to trap oil, grease, and everyday spills.

This heavy-duty mat pairs a tear-resistant felt-like polyester surface with a rubberized underside so fluids are absorbed into the pad while the floor stays dry. Sized to cover shelves, workbenches, paint trays, or under a vehicle, the mat is easy to trim without fraying, simple to rinse or machine-wash, and formulated without BPA or phthalates for everyday workshop use.

How well does the mat absorb and contain oil and other liquids?

The polyester top layer is engineered to draw in oils, motor fluids, and common workshop liquids while the rubber backing blocks seepage to the surface beneath. It captures drips and small spills quickly so you can work without pooling or tracking fluids.

• Absorbent polyester surface pulls in oils and greasy residues.
• Waterproof rubber backing prevents leaks to the floor below.
• Compact felt-like structure increases absorbency and durability.
• Ideal for engine bays, drip trays, shelves and under tools.

Can I trim the mat to fit custom areas and will the edges fray?

The mat cuts easily with household scissors for a precise fit—no special tools required. The fabric is designed to resist fraying, so trimmed edges remain tidy under normal handling.

• Use scissors to size the 60" x 40" pad to your space.
• Material holds shape and resists unraveling after trimming.
• Great for custom shelf liners, drawer inserts, and irregular surfaces.
• Trimmed pieces still retain the backing protection and absorbency.

How do I clean and maintain the mat for repeated use?

The dense, durable construction tolerates routine washing with detergent—either by hand or in a machine, depending on the level of soil. After washing, air dry or tumble-dry on low to preserve the rubber backing and the top fabric’s absorbent qualities.

• Rinse oil residue and use mild detergent for best results.
• Machine-safe on gentle cycles; air-dry recommended for longevity.
• Resists tearing and wear, extending usable life between replacements.
• Odorless materials mean fewer lingering smells after cleaning.

Is the material safe to use around my shop, garage, or household areas?

The mat is made from polyester fabric with a rubber backing and is free of BPA and phthalates—designed to be odor-free and stable under normal conditions. While not a substitute for hazardous-waste containment, it offers a safer surface option for catching common fluids and keeping floors clean.

• Odorless composition for a cleaner workspace environment.
• No BPA or phthalates listed in the construction.
• Not intended for storage of hazardous chemicals long-term.
• Suitable for automotive, home repair, and storage areas.
