The Blue Sea Systems MRBF 60A terminal fuse is a high-interrupt-capacity DC main fuse engineered to protect large battery banks with a visible blown indicator.
This compact 60-amp MRBF terminal fuse delivers robust short-circuit interruption and clear visual status so you can meet ABYC-style DC main protection expectations for larger marine battery systems. Designed for use with Blue Sea terminal fuse blocks, it provides a reliable sacrificial link between the battery bank and downstream distribution while making fault detection simple at a glance.
The MRBF 60A is rated for 10,000 AIC at 14 V DC, which means it interrupts large fault currents quickly to limit damage to wiring and equipment. It’s intended as the primary or main battery protection when installed in an approved terminal fuse block rather than directly on the battery post.
This fuse is designed to be seated in specific terminal fuse blocks to ensure correct electrical clearance, mechanical support, and safe handling during replacement. Mounting directly to a battery terminal can create unsafe conditions and will not meet the intended installation clearances or ABYC-style intent.
The MRBF fuse exposes a clear mechanical indicator when the element opens, giving an immediate visual cue that the main fuse has operated. That saves diagnostic time and helps crews restore service faster by identifying the failed fuse without disassembly.
Choose the MRBF 60A when your DC main protection requires a 60 amp continuous rating and needs a high interrupt capacity for larger battery banks. Confirm the fuse block model (PN 5191 or PN 2151) fits your bus bar layout and mechanical space before ordering.
Who is this for: Marine electricians, boat owners, and system integrators installing or upgrading DC main protection on larger battery banks will benefit from the MRBF 60A’s high interrupt capacity and quick visual fault indication. It’s ideal when ABYC-style protection levels are required and when you plan to install the fuse inside a compatible Blue Sea terminal fuse block for safe, code-conscious wiring.
Q: Can I mount the MRBF 60A directly on the battery terminal?
A: No. This fuse must be installed in a compatible terminal fuse block (PN 5191 or PN 2151) for safe clearance and proper operation.
Q: What does 10,000 AIC at 14 V DC mean for my boat?
A: It means the fuse can safely interrupt very high fault currents at 14 V DC, protecting wiring and equipment on large battery banks.
