BougeRV Hitch Cargo Carrier Bag 12 cu ft Waterproof Expandable 1000D Polyester with Reinforced Base

BougeRV Hitch Cargo Carrier Bag is a 12 cubic-foot, 1000D waterproof, expandable luggage cover designed to protect and expand your vehicle's rear cargo capacity while on the road.

This heavy-duty hitch bag uses rainproof 1000D polyester, a reinforced base, and waterproof, recessed zippers to keep gear dry and secure on road trips, camping trips, or moves. At 48" long x 20" wide x 22" high and folding down for compact storage, it fits most standard hitch-mounted cargo carriers and holds roughly the volume of two medium suitcases plus extra gear.

How much gear will this hitch bag actually hold?

The BougeRV hitch carrier bag offers up to 12 cubic feet of expandable capacity. That space typically accommodates two medium suitcases, a cooler, two compact tents, and smaller accessories—freeing interior vehicle space for passengers and pets.

• Dimensions: 48" L x 20" W x 22" H when expanded.
• Typical packing: 2 medium suitcases + cooler + camping tents.
• Expandable construction folds flat when not in use for easy storage.

How does it keep contents safe from weather and road grime?

Built from rainproof 1000D polyester, the bag shields gear from rain and splashes. Heavy-duty zippers are recessed beneath a protective flap, reducing direct exposure to wind-driven moisture and road spray.

• 1000D polyester outer fabric for abrasion and water resistance.
• Waterproof, reinforced zippers tucked under a storm flap.
• Sturdy seams and a durable base to resist wear from road vibration.

How is the bag secured to the carrier, and will it stay put?

BougeRV includes six robust straps sized to fit a variety of hitch carriers and provide multiple anchor points. The straps distribute tension evenly, helping prevent shifting while driving without significantly increasing load weight.

• Six adjustable straps included for secure attachment.
• Long strap length to accommodate different carrier styles.
• Lightweight design so the bag itself won’t overload the carrier.

Are there any important safety or fit considerations to know?

Keep the bag away from high-temperature exhaust outlets—proximity to hot exhaust could damage the fabric or straps. Also confirm your hitch carrier’s dimensions and weight rating before loading to ensure compatibility and safe towing.

• Avoid mounting too close to vehicle exhaust to prevent heat damage.
• Check carrier weight limits and distribute load evenly.
• Foldable design allows removal and compact storage when not in use.
