The DeVilbiss StartingLine HVLP kit is a two-gun automotive spray set built for basecoat/clearcoat work and precise spot repairs, supplied with cups, regulator, tools and a carrying case.
Designed for hobbyists, detail shops and weekend restorers, this HVLP (high-volume, low-pressure) kit balances professional-style performance with straightforward setup. It pairs a 1.3 mm gravity-feed gun and a 1.0 mm detail gun so you can tackle full panels and small touch-ups without changing systems. All components arrive organized in a hard carrying case so you can transport, store, and protect your tools between jobs.
The kit includes two gravity-feed spray guns with different fluid-tip sizes, cups for holding paint, a cleaning brush set, a maintenance wrench, an adjustable air regulator with gauge, and a fitted carrying case. The 1.3 mm gun and 600 cc aluminum cup handle base coats and clear coats, while the 1.0 mm gun and 250 cc plastic cup are optimized for spot repairs and detail work.
The 1.3 mm gravity feed gun is sized to deliver a reliable fan and fluid flow for typical basecoat and clearcoat materials when used with proper thinning. It produces a balance of atomization and transfer efficiency that reduces overspray compared with conventional high-pressure guns.
Use the 1.0 mm detail gun for spot repairs, blending, and small assemblies where precision matters more than volume. Its smaller tip and 250 cc cup lower material consumption and make it easier to match edges without overspray on surrounding surfaces.
Initial setup requires connecting the regulator, setting the recommended pressure, and adjusting fluid/air needle settings per coating specifications. Regular cleaning with the supplied brush set and periodic maintenance with the wrench helps prevent clogging and preserves spray pattern consistency.
Who is this for? The DeVilbiss StartingLine HVLP kit suits DIYers, auto detailers, and small shop technicians who want a versatile, portable spray solution without investing in multiple industrial systems. It’s particularly useful when you need both full-panel coverage and controlled detail work in one compact package.
