Dometic Model 400 RV Toilet — Round Gravity-Flush, White, 18" Chair-Height with Soft-Close Seat

The Dometic Model 400 Essential RV Toilet is a lightweight, full-size residential-style gravity-flush toilet engineered for easy drop-in replacement and space-saving installation in RVs.

Built to combine the comfort of a home toilet with the demands of mobile living, this Model 400 offers an 18" chair height, soft-close seat, and a compact rear profile that fits tighter bathrooms. The heavy-duty plastic construction keeps weight down without sacrificing durability, while the universal two-bolt mount and shared footprint simplify installation when replacing older RV fixtures or upgrading within the 400 Series.

How does the Model 400 save space in a small RV bathroom?

The toilet’s compact rear profile reduces the depth required behind the bowl, freeing up floor area in constrained layouts. That makes it possible to fit a more comfortable seat without reconfiguring cabinetry or plumbing.

• Minimal rear projection for tighter install zones
• 18" chair height gives residential comfort without extra footprint
• Round bowl profile fits smaller stalls better than elongated models

Will this fit my existing RV rough-in and mounting pattern?

The Model 400 is designed as a drop-in upgrade for most RV installations, matching a universal two-bolt mount and the standard 7.625" or greater rough-in. That shared footprint reduces the need for floor modification or complex plumbing moves.

• Universal two-bolt mounting for easy replacement
• Compatible with standard RV rough-ins 7.625" and up
• Swaps directly with many competitor toilets and other 400 Series models

How effective and quiet is the Dometic gravity flush system?

The engineered spray-flush design targets full bowl coverage to rinse efficiently while minimizing water use. The gravity-assisted action is quieter than many macerator setups and is optimized to reduce splash and the need for multiple flushes.

• Spray flush for wide bowl coverage and better rinsing
• Water-efficient gravity flush reduces consumption during travels
• Quieter operation compared with some mechanical or macerating systems

What convenience features does the toilet offer for everyday use?

Comfort and ease-of-use are central to the Model 400: a residential-style seat at 18" height and a soft-close lid eliminate slamming and include a position-lock hinge to hold the lid open. The plastic surfaces are easy to clean and withstand the bumps of life on the road.

• Soft-close seat and lid prevent slamming and reduce noise
• Position-lock hinge holds lid open for cleaning or use
• Featherlight, durable plastic body for long-term wear and easier handling

Who is this for? The Dometic Model 400 Essential RV Toilet is intended for RV owners, renovators, and fleet operators seeking a simple, reliable upgrade to a residential-height toilet that saves space and weight. It suits anyone replacing an old RV toilet who wants easier installation, quieter, water-efficient flushing, and the comfort of an 18" chair height without changing bathroom layouts.
