FilterTime RV Air Filter 7.5 x 14 FT-714 — MERV 6 1-Pack Replacement for Dometic Grilles, Maintains Airflow

FilterTime RV FT-714 is a 7.5" x 14" MERV 6 replacement air filter designed to drop into Dometic-style RV air grilles for cleaner cabin air and reliable airflow.

If you own an RV with a Dometic air grille, this single-pack FilterTime FT-714 filter offers an easy, American-made swap that captures common particles such as dust, pollen, and pet dander while maintaining circulation. It’s built for simple, tool-free installation and is rated for typical use up to 90 days, offering a convenient way to refresh your RV’s ventilation before a trip or after heavy use.

What exactly does the FT-714 filter remove from RV air?

The FT-714 is a MERV 6 pleated filter engineered to capture larger airborne particles that commonly accumulate inside recreational vehicles. It reduces the amount of visible dust, pet hair clumps, and pollen entering the cabin area, helping vents stay cleaner and fans run more efficiently.

• Rated to trap pet dander, pollen, and household dust.
• Pleated media increases surface area for particle capture.
• Helps keep vent fins and duct openings clearer between cleanings.

How easy is it to install the FT-714 in a Dometic-style grille?

Installation is straightforward and tool-free for most Dometic air grilles: remove the grille, slide out the old filter, and slide in the FT-714. The filter’s 7.5" x 14" dimensions are made to align with the standard replacement slot, so it fits snugly without trimming.

• Slide-in design matches Dometic-style opening dimensions.
• No adhesive or mounting hardware required.
• Typically replaced in under a minute per grille.

How long should I expect this filter to last in normal RV use?

FilterTime recommends replacing this filter roughly every 90 days under typical recreational usage, though actual life depends on occupancy, pet presence, and outdoor conditions. If you travel in dusty environments or have shedding pets aboard, check the filter more frequently and swap sooner if visibly soiled.

• Standard service life: about 90 days under normal conditions.
• Shorten interval when camping in dusty or pollen-heavy areas.
• Visual inspection is the best cue to replace sooner.

Will this filter affect airflow or HVAC performance in my RV?

The FT-714 is engineered for good airflow while providing particle capture at the MERV 6 level, so it balances filtration with system efficiency. Independent testing shows it maintains strong airflow through common RV vents, helping the air system perform without undue strain.

• MERV 6 media balances capture and airflow for RV HVAC use.
• Pleated construction preserves surface area and reduces pressure drop.
• Helps prolong fan and grille cleanliness to support efficient operation.
