Gates 1/4 in Windscreen Washer & Vacuum Hose 50' — Flexible, Heat-Resistant Tubing

Gates 27044 is a 50-foot, 1/4-inch inner diameter automotive tubing designed for windshield washer lines, vacuum-operated accessories, and small overflow or drainage tasks. Gates engineered this hose to replace brittle PVC lines and provide a longer-lasting alternative that stays flexible under the hood. Made for common automotive uses—washer systems, vacuum connections, and overflow drains—the tubing combines durability with easy routing and simple installation. It’s sold in a 50' length so you can cut to size for multiple repairs or custom runs.

What makes this hose better than standard PVC for washer and vacuum lines?

The Gates material maintains flexibility that PVC often loses with age and heat exposure, so it resists cracking, splitting and becoming hard. It’s formulated to tolerate the automotive environment—heat, ozone and contact with coolant—helping it last longer in service.

• Flexible construction for tight or curved routing without kinking
• Resistant to heat and ozone that degrade PVC
• Compatible with washer fluid and typical engine-bay fluids
• Vacuum-rated to keep consistent suction for accessory connections

How easy is it to install and work with this 50-foot tubing?

The hose is supplied in one continuous 50' roll so you can trim exact lengths—no need to join multiple short pieces if one run requires substantial length. Its suppleness simplifies pushing through tight channels and makes cleaning or flushing straightforward when maintaining washer systems or drain runs.

• Cut-to-length roll for custom installations
• Flexible for simple routing around components
• Easy to clean or flush when servicing washer lines
• Accepts standard 1/4" fittings and clamps

Can this tubing handle under-hood conditions and vacuum applications?

Yes—Gates designed the hose to resist common stresses found near the engine bay, including heat cycles, ozone exposure and incidental contact with coolant. Its vacuum- and kink-resistant construction helps maintain airflow or suction for vacuum-operated accessories without collapsing under negative pressure.

• Heat-resistant formulation for elevated-temperature zones
• Ozone and coolant resistance for longer life
• Built to resist collapse under vacuum loads
• Kink-resistant for reliable fluid or air flow

Which typical automotive jobs can this hose be used for?

The 1/4" inner diameter suits most windshield washer systems, many headlight washer setups, vacuum-operated accessories and small drainage tasks like radiator overflow or rainwater discharge. Its universal sizing and 50' length make it a versatile shop-stock item for DIYers and pros alike.

• Replace factory washer or headlight washer tubing
• Connect vacuum-actuated components and accessories
• Route radiator overflow or external drain lines
• Supply lines for small fluid transfer or venting needs

Who is this for?

This Gates 27044 hose is aimed at automotive technicians, restoration hobbyists and DIY vehicle owners who need a dependable, long-length replacement for brittle or failing PVC lines. Choose it when you want a flexible, under-hood-rated 1/4" tubing that resists heat, ozone and coolant exposure and performs reliably for washer systems, vacuum connections and small overflow drains.
