Gerber Seatbelt Strap Cutter with Glass Breaker — Black Slim Car Escape Tool, One-Handed Rescue

The Gerber Seatbelt Strap Cutter is a compact rescue tool that combines a protected hook blade, glass breaker tip and ambidextrous sheath for quick vehicle escape.

Built by Gerber in the USA, this slim black escape tool is engineered for fast, one-handed use during car emergencies. It pairs a guarded 420HC steel hook knife with a textured rubber grip and a blunt hooking tip to safely slice seatbelts, clothing and webbing without exposing the cutting edge. The integrated glass breaker and multiple mounting options (molle clip, carabiner or keychain attachment) make it a practical addition to glove boxes, key rings, emergency kits and tactical gear.

How does this tool help if a seatbelt jams?

Its recessed hook blade is designed to cut straps cleanly while minimizing risk of injury to the user or passenger. You can operate it with a single hand and the large finger hole stabilizes control under stress.

• 420HC steel hook blade shields the edge for safe contact
• Large finger hole increases leverage and prevents slips
• Blunt hook tip slips under tight belts and webbing
• Quick-release friction sheath gives immediate access

Can I break a car window with this tool?

The tool includes a hardened glass breaker tip intended to shatter automotive glass when necessary. It’s compact enough for carry yet stout enough to deliver a focused impact to tempered side windows.

• Dedicated glass breaker tip concentrated for efficient strikes
• Textured back edge improves grip during impact
• Small, controlled tool minimizes collateral damage inside the vehicle

How do I carry and attach the Gerber Seatbelt Cutter?

Gerber designed multiple mounting options so you can store the cutter where you’ll reach it fastest. The ambidextrous sheath and included clips let you mount it on belts, MOLLE webbing, bag straps or keep it on a keyring.

• Quick-release friction sheath for instant access
• MOLLE-adaptable clip and malice clip included
• Lanyard hole and keychain-friendly size for varied carry methods

What materials and care are required for long-term reliability?

The cutting hook uses 420HC stainless steel for a balance of edge retention and corrosion resistance; the handle combines molded rubber with textured surfaces for a secure hold. Rinse and dry after exposure to moisture and check the sheath fit periodically for reliable deployment.

• 420HC steel blade — rust-resistant and easy to maintain
• Molded rubber grip resists slipping when wet
• Made in Portland, OR and covered by the Gerber guarantee
