How durable and weather-resistant is this replacement latch?

The handle is constructed from reinforced metal and treated on the surface to resist corrosion and wear from exposure to the elements. That makes it better suited to last through regular use, rough weather, and the mechanical stresses of daily tailgate operation.

• Reinforced metal body for improved strength versus brittle factory plastic
• Surface treatment reduces rust, pitting, and premature wear
• Includes plastic bezel trim rod clips for secure assembly and proper alignment
• Manufactured to match factory dimensions for consistent operation

How difficult is installation and what comes in the box?

Installation is intended to be quick since the part is a direct OEM-style replacement; basic hand tools are usually all that’s required. The handle mounts in the same locations as the original and reconnects to existing latch linkage and fasteners.

• Direct replacement for original latch—no custom modifications needed
• Mounting holes and sockets match factory part for an accurate fit
• Includes bezel trim rod clips; standard fasteners and linkage reuseable in most cases
• Typical install time: under an hour for experienced DIYers
