HitchSafe HS7000 hitch key vault — 2" trailer hitch hidden safe, 4-digit combo, weather-resistant

Designed for trucks, SUVs, and many cars with a standard 2" receiver, the HS7000 hides keys, cash, and up to two cards inside your trailer hitch so valuables stay out of sight during outdoor activities, car sharing, or everyday use. The unit slides into the receiver and locks in place with two internal steel bolts that can only be retracted when the coded drawer is opened, offering simple, tool‑free installation and removal.

How does the HS7000 keep items safe while mounted on my hitch?

The HS7000 uses a fully metal drawer and two steel sliding bolts inside the receiver to prevent unauthorized removal. The combination drawer must be opened to access and withdraw the bolts, so the unit remains locked unless the correct 4‑digit code is entered.

• 100% metal body with rust‑resistant coating for long life
• Two internal sliding metal bolts secure the vault inside the hitch
• 4‑digit combination offers 10,000 possible codes
• Concealed drawer design hides the lock from casual view

Will installation or removal take a lot of time or tools?

Installation and removal are quick and tool‑free; the HS7000 is made to slide into a standard 2" receiver and lock into place using the supplied components. Everything needed to mount and secure the vault comes in the package.

• Push the drawer into the receiver until bolts engage
• Set or change your 4‑digit code without extra tools
• Includes mounting bolts, sliding bars, and rubber hitch cover
• All steps take seconds for most users

What fits inside and will it handle outdoor conditions?

The HS7000 stores spare keys, small amounts of cash, and up to two credit or access cards — sized for essential items you want available but not carried on your person. The construction and finish resist rust and the drawer has an attractive dust cover to shed dirt and debris.

• Holds spare car keys, house key, cash, and two cards
• Dust cover conceals the combination and helps block dirt
• Rust‑resistant finish for exposure to elements when mounted
• For keyless fobs, use a Faraday bag (sold separately) to block signals

Can I share access with family or use it for car sharing services?

Yes — the HS7000 is ideal for temporary access situations like car sharing, house guests, Turo pickups, or outdoor sports where carrying keys would be inconvenient. Simply provide the combination to trusted people or change it after use to maintain control.

• Change the 4‑digit code before or after sharing access
• Perfect for Turo, carpooling, or guest pickups
• No key exchange required — just share the code securely
• Keep a spare key accessible for emergencies

Who is this for? The HitchSafe HS7000 suits active outdoor enthusiasts, vehicle owners who rent or share cars, and anyone wanting a compact, hidden spot for spare keys and a bit of cash. If you have a standard 2" hitch receiver and need an unobtrusive, durable pickup for small valuables — especially when you prefer not to carry items while boating, biking, skiing, or using ride‑share and peer‑to‑peer car rental services — this vault is a practical, low‑maintenance solution.
