ILM Youth Dirt Bike Helmet MT601Y Full-Face DOT Kit with Goggles, Gloves & Balaclava

ILM MT601Y is a full-face youth motocross helmet kit that combines a DOT-compliant ABS shell, removable visor, ventilation, and a four-piece protective accessory set for junior riders.

This ILM youth dirt bike helmet MT601Y is built for young ATV, dirt bike, BMX and off-road riders who need reliable coverage without excess weight. The helmet meets or exceeds DOT (FMVSS-218) safety standards and pairs a high-density inner liner with a sturdy ABS outer shell. ILM ships the helmet as a ready-to-ride package that includes gloves, a balaclava face mask and foam-cushioned UV-resistant goggles.

Will this helmet protect my child while riding off-road?

The MT601Y uses a durable ABS shell and a high-density impact-absorbing liner designed to disperse energy during impacts. It is manufactured to meet FMVSS-218 and DOT safety requirements, providing a baseline safety standard for recreational off-road use.

• DOT/FM VSS-218 compliant shell and construction
• High-density foam interior for impact absorption
• Full-face coverage including chin and nose guard
• Removable, snap-secured visor to reduce sun glare and debris

How comfortable and breathable is the helmet for kids?

ILM engineered the MT601Y to be lightweight so it won’t overly strain a child’s neck during longer rides. The ventilation channels and mouth/side vents help increase airflow, reducing heat build-up and stuffiness inside the helmet.

• Lightweight construction minimizes pressure on shoulders and neck
• Multiple vents for improved air circulation and heat release
• Foam-cushioned goggles included for comfortable eye fit
• Removable inner padding for cleaning and fit adjustments

What comes in the MT601Y kit and how do the extras help?

The MT601Y is sold as a 4-in-1 set that adds practical protection and convenience beyond the helmet itself. Included accessories are selected to enhance comfort, sun and debris protection, and eye safety for trail and track use.

• Pair of motorcycle gloves sized for youth to improve grip and protect hands
• Balaclava face mask to shield skin from wind, dust and cold
• UV-resistant goggles with sponge cushion to block sun and particulates
• Snap-on removable brim for customizable sun and dust blocking

How do you maintain and adjust the helmet for the right fit?

The helmet includes removable components that make cleaning and fit-tuning straightforward. Regular inspection of straps, snaps and padding helps keep the helmet performing as intended and extends its usable life.

• Remove inner liners and wash according to care instructions
• Check chin strap tension and snap fasteners before each ride
• Replace goggles or balaclava if foam or fabric shows wear
• Replace helmet after any significant impact per manufacturer guidance

It suits parents who want a complete kit that prioritizes airflow, sun/debris protection and an easy-to-adjust fit without adding unnecessary bulk.
