KAX Engine Air Filter CA9492 — Direct-Fit Replacement for GM/Suzuki, Long-Life High-Efficiency

This KAX CA9492 replacement air filter is built to match factory fitment while improving dust-holding capacity and airflow stability. Constructed from high-performance media with reinforced pleating, it provides a direct-fit solution for owners who want longer service intervals and consistent engine breathing without changing intake parts. The unit ships boxed and is sized for the OE housing dimensions listed in the specifications.

Which vehicles does this filter fit?

The CA9492 is tailored to multiple General Motors vehicles and a few Suzuki models produced across the 2000s and early 2010s. Verify your vehicle year, engine size, and original part number before purchase to ensure compatibility.

• Chevrolet Malibu 2009–2012 (including 2008 with 2.4L/3.6L where applicable)
• Equinox 2005–2009; Pontiac G6 2007–2010 variations (2.4L, 3.5L, 3.6L)
• Buick Lucerne 2006–2011; Cadillac DTS 2006–2011
• Saturn Vue 2002–2007, Aura 2007–2009; Torrent 2006–2009; Suzuki XL-7 2007–2009

How does the CA9492 improve engine protection and performance?

KAX uses a combination of high-performance oiled cotton gauze and specialized embossed paper to trap particles while allowing steady airflow. That mix increases dust capacity without creating excessive restriction, supporting consistent throttle response and stable combustion.

• 99.9% filtration efficiency to reduce particulate ingress
• High dust-holding capacity from embossed pleats to extend service life
• Balanced airflow preservation to help maintain acceleration and fuel economy

How often should I replace this filter compared to stock filters?

The CA9492 is designed to last longer than many standard disposable filters thanks to its premium media and construction. KAX rates the unit for mileage up to approximately 20,000 miles under typical driving conditions, but actual interval depends on environment and driving habits.

• Rated life up to ~20K miles under normal conditions
• Replace sooner if driving in dusty or heavy-pollution environments
• Non-washable, non-reusable — replace with a new CA9492 when performance drops

What are the key physical specifications and installation notes?

The CA9492 is a direct-replacement boxed filter sized to fit original housings specified for the listed models. It comes as a single piece and is not designed for washing or re-oiling, so simply remove the old filter and install the new unit following manufacturer access instructions.

• Dimensions: 11" length × 9.4" width × 1.5" height; square shape

• Not washable or reusable—dispose responsibly and replace on schedule

It suits do-it-yourselfers, independent shops, and drivers who prioritize prolonged filter life and stable engine airflow without modifying the intake system. If you need a direct-fit, boxed replacement with improved dust-holding ability and high filtration efficiency, CA9492 is a suitable choice.
