The KDator BM2 is a Bluetooth-enabled 12V battery monitor that reads voltage, charge state and starting performance, plus issues a low-voltage alarm to protect lead-acid systems.
The BM2 plugs into any 12-volt lead-acid vehicle or solar battery and streams live battery data to a free iPhone or Android app using Bluetooth 4.0. Designed for cars, trucks, motorcycles, boats, RVs and small solar setups, it automatically detects engine starts, tracks driving sessions, and alerts you when voltage falls below safe thresholds so you can address weak batteries before they leave you stranded.
The device continuously monitors voltage and uses built-in logic to estimate charge condition and cranking performance. When measurements drop below set limits the BM2 triggers a LowVolt alarm inside the app, so you get an immediate notification as soon as the unit reconnects.
The BM2 works with all standard 12-volt lead-acid battery systems — that includes flooded, AGM and gel batteries commonly used in vehicles and small off-grid setups. It is suitable for passenger cars, light trucks, motorcycles, boats, RVs and solar power installations that operate on a 12V architecture.
KDator supplies a free BM2 app for iPhone and Android that connects without entry of pairing codes. Once the BM2 is physically attached to the battery and Bluetooth is enabled on your phone, open the app to see voltage, charge level, cranking detection and session logs instantly.
By providing continuous voltage monitoring and immediate alerts, the BM2 helps you react to battery drain or charging faults early. The low-voltage alarm and session records make it easier to identify parasitic draws, weak alternators or batteries nearing end of life without guesswork.
Who is this for: The KDator BM2 suits vehicle owners, boaters, RV travelers and small solar system operators who want an affordable, hands-free way to monitor 12V lead-acid batteries and receive low-voltage warnings. It’s ideal for anyone who prefers proactive battery upkeep, trackable charge data, and a simple Bluetooth app rather than bulky testers or manual meter checks. Avoid using BM2 as a replacement for professional diagnostics in complex electrical faults; it’s designed for ongoing monitoring and early warning, not as a full-service repair tool.
Q: Does BM2 work with lithium batteries?
A: No. BM2 is designed for 12V lead-acid batteries (flooded, AGM, gel) and is not intended for lithium battery packs.
Q: What Bluetooth range triggers the LowVolt alarm?
A: The BM2 issues a LowVolt alert when your phone enters approximately a 10-meter Bluetooth range of the device.
