Kelty CAR-GO-BOX collapsible 45L organization tote with 3 removable color-coded pods, DWR water-resistant

The Kelty CAR-GO-BOX is a collapsible, 45-liter organization tote with three color-coded zip pods and a structured folding case for quick packing and easy transport.

Designed for people who move between vehicles, campsites, trailheads and gear rooms, this modular system keeps small groups of items separated and ready to grab. The CAR-GO-BOX combines a rigid, folding outer case with three U-zip top pods that are removable, stackable and easy to stow flat when not in use. Built from 600D fabric with a PFAS-free durable water repellent finish, it balances durability and practical weather resistance without bulky weight.

How does the Kelty CAR-GO-BOX make packing faster?

The system lets you pre-sort gear into three separate pods so you can pull exactly what you need without digging through a single pile. Color-coded pods speed identification, and the U-shaped zipper gives full access so items pack and unpack cleanly.

• Three removable pods, each 20 x 12 x 12 inches (15L) for organized grouping
• Full-exposure U-zip for quick visibility and retrieval
• Reinforced handles on each pod for heavy loads and easy lifting

Can I carry the CAR-GO-BOX to and from my vehicle?

Yes — the folding case doubles as a haul bag and the adjustable straps convert between compression and carry modes. When straps are configured as handles, triple-stitched points and oversized zipper pulls make moving loaded gear straightforward.

• Adjustable straps: compression or carry positions
• Triple-stitched carry points for rugged use
• Outer case distributes weight for easier transport

Will it stand up to outdoor use and rugged gear?

The CAR-GO-BOX uses heavy-duty 600D fabric with a PFAS-free DWR coating for everyday resistance to moisture, dirt and abrasion. The reinforced structure protects pods and contents during transit while remaining light enough to carry.

• 600D fabric for abrasion and tear resistance
• PFAS-free durable water repellent treatment
• Robust stitching and oversized zippers for long-term reliability

How compact is it when not in use?

The pods collapse and nest inside the outer case, and the whole kit folds flat for simple storage in a trunk, garage shelf or closet. Folded dimensions are small enough to keep as a permanent organizer in most vehicles.

• Folded size: 20 x 12 x 4 inches for low-profile storage
• Total system volume ≈ 45 liters when assembled
• Each pod collapses flat to save space when empty

Who this is for: The Kelty CAR-GO-BOX suits commuters, road-trippers, campers, mountain bikers, climbers and families who want an easy, durable way to sort and access gear. It’s ideal for anyone who needs to move multiple small kits quickly — think tool kits, cooking supplies, clothing layers, first-aid or kid gear — and wants a tidy trunk or van without bulky single-compartment bags. If you value quick retrieval, rugged construction and a system that stores flat when not in use, this organizer will simplify packing and shorten your setup time on the trail or at camp.
