KEY-BAK Locking Keychain Retractable Key Reel — 36" Aramid Cord, Black, 80 lb Strength & Locking Belt Clip

The KEY-BAK Locking Keychain is a heavy-duty retractable key reel with a 36" aramid fiber cord, locking belt clip, and a durable polycarbonate case built for long-lasting everyday carry.

This compact tether pairs industrial-strength materials with user-friendly design to keep keys, badges, or small tools secure and accessible. Designed and assembled in the USA from globally sourced components, the reel emphasizes durability, low waste, and dependable performance in demanding daily use.

How tough is the cord and what does it hold?

The reel uses a heavy-duty aramid fiber cord rated with an 80 lb minimum breaking strength, making it reliable for keys, ID cards, small hand tools, and personal devices. The cord’s thin profile lets it retract smoothly while resisting fray and stretch under frequent use.

• 36-inch retraction length for extended reach
• Aramid fiber built to resist abrasion and tensile failure
• 80 lb minimum breaking strength suitable for typical carry items

What safety and anti-snag features does the reel offer?

The case incorporates KEY-BAK’s patented ball-joint locking mechanism to prevent the cord from catching or binding when pulled at an angle. The polycarbonate housing is shatter-resistant and lightweight, protecting internal components while reducing the chance of breakage if dropped.

• Patented ball-joint lock prevents snagging and allows secure overload
• 2 1/4" diameter case balances compact size with internal durability
• Shatter-resistant polycarbonate reduces damage from impacts

How does this product support sustainability and longevity?

KEY-BAK ECO-REELS are engineered to produce far less waste versus disposable reels and single-use keychains. With a robust build and a 1-year warranty plus a Lifetime Service Policy, this reel is intended for long-term use rather than frequent replacement.

• Manufacturing reduces waste by up to 90% compared to disposable alternatives
• Made in the USA with globally sourced parts to strict quality standards
• Backed by a 1-year warranty and Lifetime Service Policy for repairs

How do I wear and use the belt clip and locking function?

The locking belt clip secures the reel to a belt, pocket edge, or retractor point for hands-free carry while the cord extends smoothly when needed. When you pull the cord out, the ball-joint lock keeps it steady and prevents accidental retraction or catching on gear.

• Spring-loaded belt clip for quick attachment and removal
• Locking action stabilizes the cord during active movement
• Lightweight 13 oz package weight for comfortable daily carry

Who is this for: The KEY-BAK Locking Keychain is ideal for professionals and everyday users who need a reliable tether for keys, badges, and small tools—security officers, maintenance staff, tradespeople, and commuters will benefit most.
