Ko-ken spark plug socket 14mm 3/8-inch drive Z-Series — 6-point clip retention, 70mm reach

Ko-ken 3300CZ-14 is a 14mm, 6-point Z-Series spark plug socket with a 3/8" square drive and spring clips to hold plugs securely during removal and installation. The Ko-ken 3300CZ-14 is built for technicians and DIY mechanics who need a reliable, compact socket specifically for spark plug service. It pairs a corrosion-resistant Z-Series finish with a 70mm length and a clip-style retention system so you can reach recessed plugs and keep them seated while you work. This product description explains the socket's main attributes, how it performs in common scenarios, and who benefits most from choosing this model.

How does the 3300CZ-14 keep spark plugs from dropping?

The socket uses spring-mounted clips inside the socket body to grip the plug’s ceramic insulator so the plug stays attached even at awkward angles. That clip retention eliminates fumbles when pulling plugs from deep wells or guiding new plugs into place. The 6-point opening matches plug hex shapes to reduce rounding and ensure a secure fit.

• Spring clip retention holds plugs securely during extraction and installation
• 6-point profile reduces slippage on hex-shaped plug seats
• 70mm length reaches most recessed spark plug wells

What drive size and dimensions should I expect?

This socket has a 3/8" square drive interface, compatible with standard 3/8" ratchets and extensions for common workshop toolsets. The overall length is 70mm, which balances reach with control for tight engine bays. The working opening is 14mm, sized for many modern spark plugs and small enough for compact engines.

• Input drive: 3/8" square, fits standard 3/8" ratchets
• Socket length: 70mm, suitable for recessed plug wells
• Opening size: 14mm, 6-point to match plug hex heads

How durable and easy to use is the Z-Series finish?

Ko-ken’s Z-Series surface treatment resists corrosion and helps the socket slide into tight spaces without catching. The hardened steel construction and 6-point geometry minimize rounding on fasteners and increase long-term durability under regular shop use. The finish also simplifies cleanup after exposure to oils and grime.

• Z-Series corrosion-resistant coating for longer life
• Hardened steel and 6-point design reduce wear and rounding
• Smooth exterior finish eases insertion into tight engine compartments

Can I use this socket for different engines and accessories?

While designed for spark plugs, the 14mm 6-point geometry and 3/8" drive make it useful for other small hex fasteners where a socket with clip retention helps. It’s particularly helpful on compact motors, motorcycles, scooters, small marine engines, and many automotive transverse engines with recessed spark plugs. However, it’s optimized for spark plug dimensions rather than general heavy-duty fastening.

• Works across cars, motorcycles, and small-engine applications
• Clip retention useful where parts sit deep in wells or hoses obstruct access
• Not intended as a substitute for larger heavy-duty sockets

Who is this for? The Ko-ken 3300CZ-14 is intended for professional mechanics, home garage enthusiasts, and anyone who services engines with recessed spark plugs requiring a 14mm socket. Choose this model when you need a compact 70mm reach, positive plug retention via spring clips, and a durable Z-Series finish that resists corrosion in workshop conditions. It pairs well with a 3/8" ratchet and standard extensions for an efficient spark plug service kit.
