The Lisle 54150 is a compact dual-purpose puller that removes corroded battery cable clamps and bolted-on windshield wiper arms with controlled, non-marring force.
Designed for technicians and DIYers, this handheld tool simplifies two common automotive removal tasks. Its knurled cone and adjustable jaws slip beneath stubborn terminal clamps while a centered screw pad lifts the clamp straight off the battery post. For wiper arms that ride on a tapered spline, the screw pad seats on the top of the splined post enabling a clean, coaxial pull without bending the arm or damaging the paint.
The puller slips its jaws under the cable clamp and the knurled cone secures the clamping point. Turning the center screw draws the clamp upward off the terminal, applying steady, aligned pressure to avoid spreading or damaging the clamp.
Yes — the 54150 is built to extract wiper arms that mount on tapered splines. The screw pad is shaped to center on the spline post, and as you tighten the screw the arm is pulled vertically off the taper without levering the arm sideways.
Lisle engineered the 54150 as a work-ready metal puller that tolerates regular use. Its straightforward mechanical design — adjustable jaws plus a robust center screw and pad — delivers repeatable results with minimal setup or calibration.
Who is this for? The Lisle 54150 is ideal for automotive technicians, restoration enthusiasts, roadside service pros, and home mechanics who need a dependable, low-cost tool to remove corroded battery clamps and bolted-on wiper arms without damaging parts. If you frequently encounter seized terminals or wiper arms during maintenance or vehicle repairs, this puller saves time and prevents costly part deformation compared with improvised methods.
Q: Will this tool damage battery posts?
A: No — the puller lifts clamps straight off using controlled force to avoid deforming posts or clamps when used correctly.
Q: Does it fit all wiper arm splines?
A: It fits many common tapered-spline wiper arms; extremely large or nonstandard splines may require a different puller.
