Lisle 65700 is a three-step spark plug extractor kit designed to remove seized or broken spark plug components from Ford 3V engine heads safely and efficiently.
The Lisle 65700 kit gathers three dedicated tools in a blow-molded storage case to tackle common failure modes when a spark plug breaks or fuses in the cylinder head. Instead of enlarging the hole or risking damage to the valve seats and threads, this kit provides a porcelain puller, porcelain pusher and a self-tapping metal puller that address porcelain terminals, recessed fragments and seized metal tips. The set is compact for shop storage and built for repeated professional use, with a patent protecting its unique porcelain puller design.
The porcelain puller snaps over the remaining terminal on a fractured spark plug and uses a secure grip to extract the ceramic insulator without turning or stressing the engine head threads. Its geometry is tailored to fit standard spark plug porcelain on Ford 3V engines and similar applications to avoid cracking adjacent components. This targeted approach helps remove the bulk of the broken insulator before metal removal is attempted.
The porcelain pusher included in the kit drives small ceramic fragments forward so the puller or extractor can engage them. It fits into the plug bore and applies controlled pressure to reposition or align broken pieces for safe removal. This tool is especially useful when the insulator tip has detached and sits below the reach of standard extractors.
Use the self-tapping puller after ceramic components are cleared and the metal electrode or outer shell remains stuck in the head. The self-tapping tip cuts into the seized metal tip so the extractor can back it out without excessive torque on the cylinder head threads. It’s intended for metal fragments fused by corrosion, heat or cross-threading and removes them with minimal disturbance to surrounding metal.
The Lisle kit also notes that the #65620 puller screw is a wearable item and is not covered under warranty; replacement parts are available. For users who only need the porcelain puller, Lisle offers the 65710 single tool, and the 65730 kit expands fit options with a right-handed nut and housing.
Who is this kit intended for? The Lisle 65700 Broken Plug Remover Kit is made for professional mechanics, automotive technicians and skilled DIYers working on Ford 3V engines who want a focused, low-risk method for extracting broken or seized spark plugs. It’s ideal when preserving head threads and valve train components is a priority and when a stepwise approach—pushing, pulling ceramic, then extracting metal—is required to recover a damaged plug safely.
Q: Is the Lisle 65700 compatible with non-Ford engines?
A: The tools are designed for Ford 3V engine plug geometries but often fit similar spark plug shapes; verify fit before use.
Q: Does the kit include replacement puller screws under warranty?
A: No. The #65620 puller screw is a wearable item and is not covered under warranty.
