The Lisle 68210 IPR socket is a purpose-built 3/8" drive tool that removes and installs injector pressure regulators on Ford 6.0L, International and compatible diesel engines without stressing the electrical connector.
This compact, black-finished socket was designed to reach the IPR regulator tucked into tight engine compartments and to bottom out on the regulator hex so torque is applied only to the regulator body, preserving the connector for possible reuse. It accepts a standard 3/8" square drive and fits many diesel applications; however, it is not compatible with Ford 7.3L engines. Built for technicians and DIYers who need a precise fit and controlled engagement, the Lisle 68210 simplifies a fiddly service task.
The socket’s slim profile and length are engineered to access the IPR located deep in the injection assembly area. The internal geometry lets the tool bottom against the hex of the regulator so you don’t have to fight awkward angles while working around wiring and hoses.
Yes — the Lisle 68210 is made to transfer torque to the regulator hex and not to the electrical connector. Because it bottoms on the regulator body, the connector sees minimal twisting or pulling, increasing the chance the connector remains serviceable.
This socket fits injector pressure regulators used on Ford 6.0L Power Stroke diesels, select International engines, and other similar diesel applications that share the same IPR hex dimensions. It is designed for use with a 3/8" square drive hand tool or breaker bar for controlled torque application.
Use a clean 3/8" ratchet and, if needed, an extension to position the socket over the regulator hex. Seat the tool fully so it bottoms on the hex, then apply steady torque. After use, clean debris from the bore and store in a dry toolbox to prevent corrosion and maintain fit accuracy.
Who this is for: The Lisle 68210 IPR socket is suited to professional diesel technicians, fleet mechanics, and experienced DIYers who service Ford 6.0L and similar diesel engines and need a dedicated tool to remove and replace the injector pressure regulator without harming the electrical connector. If you work on numerous diesel injectors or prefer tools that make tight-space jobs more predictable, this socket is a practical addition to your toolkit. Remember to verify engine compatibility (not for 7.3L) before purchase.
Q: Can I use this socket with a 3/8" ratchet?
A: Yes — the Lisle 68210 is made for use with any standard 3/8" square drive ratchet or extension.
Q: Will this tool work on Ford 7.3L engines?
A: No — the 68210 does not fit 7.3L IPRs. It's intended for 6.0L, International, and similar diesel regulators.
