Novus Fine Scratch Remover #2 — 2 Pack 8 oz Plastic Polish for Uncoated Clear Plastics, Non‑Abrasive

NOVUS 7030 Fine Scratch Remover #2 is a two-bottle pack of 8-ounce plastic polish designed to remove fine scratches, haze, and abrasions from most uncoated plastic surfaces.

When clear plastics—shielding, windshields, headlamps, or display covers—show light scuffs and a cloudy finish, NOVUS #2 offers a professional-grade, non-abrasive polish that cuts through fine scratches instead of merely filling them. The dual 8-ounce bottles give you enough product for multiple restorations around vehicles, boats, recreational equipment, and protective barriers used in busy environments.

How does NOVUS #2 remove fine scratches without damaging the plastic?

NOVUS 7030 uses a formulated polishing compound that gently abrades only the damaged surface layer, evening out micro-scratches while restoring clarity. It is intended for uncoated plastics and works best when combined with proper buffing techniques and a soft pad or cloth.

• Removes fine scratches and light abrasions instead of filling them.
• Works on acrylics, polycarbonates, and other uncoated clear plastics.
• Requires manual or machine buffing for best results.
• Not suitable for coated, UV-protected plastics or eyeglass lenses.

Where can I use this polish around vehicles and marine gear?

NOVUS #2 is formulated for many transportation and outdoor items where clear plastic parts become scratched or hazy. It’s popular for restoring headlamps, boat windshields, and motorcycle or golf cart clear components when they exhibit fine surface wear.

• Automotive headlamps and clear trim pieces.
• Boat and personal watercraft windscreens and hatches.
• Motorcycle and golf cart windshields or visors.
• CD/DVD surfaces and other consumer plastics (when uncoated).

What are the application steps and recommended tools?

Apply a small amount of NOVUS #2 to a clean, soft cloth or foam pad and rub in a circular motion; for larger jobs, use a low-speed polishing machine. Wipe away residue with a microfiber cloth and inspect; repeat if needed until clarity is restored.

• Clean the surface first to remove dirt and grit.
• Use soft cotton or microfiber cloths, or a foam polishing pad for machines.
• Work with even pressure, moderate speed, and short passes.
• Finish by buffing residue off with a clean microfiber towel.

Are there any safety cautions or materials to avoid?

NOVUS #2 is not safe for coated plastics, UV-treated surfaces, or eyeglass lenses and will permanently damage those materials. Always test on a small inconspicuous area first and follow protective gear and ventilation guidelines when polishing in enclosed spaces.

• Do not use on coated or UV-protected plastics.
• Avoid use on eyewear lenses—permanent damage can occur.
• Test in an inconspicuous spot before full application.
• Use gloves and eye protection when buffing with machines.
