The Orion Motor Tech 16-piece blind hole collet bearing race and seal puller kit is a heavy-duty slide hammer and collet extractor set designed to remove blind bearings, races, seals, and bushings from 6–59 mm (1/4–2-1/3 in) bores with controlled, non-destructive force.
This complete blind-bearing removal kit gives mechanics and DIYers a reliable alternative to destructive chisels or press setups. Built from forged AISI 1045 carbon steel with chromoly collets and housed in a custom blow-molded case, the kit combines a slide hammer, counterstay puller, multiple threaded adapters and ten split collets to fit a wide range of internal-diameter parts. It’s made to help extract parts from tight, obscured bores where external pulling faces aren’t available.
The kit uses expanding split collets that lock inside the inner race or bore of the part, then transfers extraction force axially with a slide hammer or a controlled counterstay tightening method. This inward gripping and axial pull minimizes contact with adjacent surfaces and reduces scoring or deformation.
The set contains a slide hammer, a counterstay puller, a spare pin bolt, three screw adapters, and ten split collets that expand to fit internal diameters from roughly 1/4 inch up to 2-1/3 inches (6–59 mm). Together the pieces handle most wheel bearing races, seals, and bushings found on cars, light trucks, and small machinery.
Yes — components are forged from AISI 1045 medium carbon steel and the collets use chromoly for enhanced toughness. The primary parts are galvanized to resist corrosion and maintain reliable thread engagement and fit after repeated use.
Basic operation is straightforward: select the collet that best matches the internal diameter, seat it in the bearing’s inner race, lock it in place, then use the slide hammer for rapid removal or tighten the counterstay for careful extraction. The included adapters and spare pin keep the kit adaptable for slightly different part geometries.
Who is this for? This Orion Motor Tech blind hole collet puller kit suits professional technicians, home mechanics, and restoration hobbyists who need a compact, durable extractor for internal bearings, seals, and bushings. It’s particularly useful when parts sit flush or recessed in housings and can’t be gripped externally — ideal for wheel bearing races, axle bushings, gear housings, and many small-engine or transmission applications. The kit reduces the need to cut or destroy parts during removal and keeps work organized with a protective case.
Q: What internal diameters do the collets cover?
A: The ten split collets expand to fit internal diameters from approximately 6 mm to 59 mm (1/4 to 2-1/3 inches).
Q: Can the kit remove bearings without a press?
A: Yes. The slide hammer and counterstay let you extract blind bearings and seals without using a hydraulic or shop press.
