The PAC SWI-CP2 is a compact universal interface that preserves your vehicle's factory steering wheel audio controls when you install an aftermarket radio.
Replacing a factory head unit often disables steering wheel buttons and the vehicle's control bus. The PAC SWI-CP2 (Universal Analog/CAN-Bus Steering Wheel Control Interface) restores those functions across a wide range of modern vehicles, including systems using CAN bus, GMLAN and Class II data protocols. It offers multiple configuration methods—DIP switches, USB PC flashing or button learning—plus mobile and desktop app support to speed up setup and reduce install time.
The SWI-CP2 translates your vehicle’s steering wheel inputs into signals the aftermarket receiver understands. It supports both analog (resistive) systems and digital data-bus systems and provides a selectable output for ACC when needed. Installation is plug-and-play for many receivers and uses a compact module to avoid dashboard clutter.
Setup can be done three ways so installers can choose the fastest or most convenient method. Use DIP switch settings referenced from the ControlPRO web or mobile apps, flash settings directly from a PC via USB, or use the built-in button learning mode to map specific steering wheel buttons. The ControlPRO apps provide vehicle lookup and recommended switch settings for accurate configuration.
PAC designed the SWI-CP2 to minimize trial-and-error during installs by offering pre-configured switch tables and app-driven guidance. The ability to flash the module from a PC or pull recommended DIP settings from the ControlPRO database cuts manual lookup time. In many common vehicle and radio combinations the module connects and functions without extensive programming.
Who is this for: The PAC SWI-CP2 is aimed at car audio installers, DIY enthusiasts and electronics shops that replace factory radios and want to retain steering wheel control features. It’s especially useful when working with newer vehicles using CAN bus or other complex data systems, or when you need a flexible solution that offers fast app-driven setup, USB flashing and button learning for unusual vehicle-button mappings.
Q: Will the SWI-CP2 work with my CAN bus vehicle?
A: Yes—SWI-CP2 supports CAN bus, GMLAN and Class II systems; use the ControlPRO app for the correct vehicle settings.
Q: Can I program the module without a PC?
A: Yes—use DIP switches guided by the ControlPRO apps or the on-device button learning mode for PC-free setup.
