PARANNIC OBD2 KKL 409.1 is a USB diagnostic interface that links VAG (VW, Audi, Seat, Skoda) vehicles from 1996 onward to VCDS-style software on Windows XP for basic fault reading, clearing and adaptations.
If you own a VAG-family car and want a low-cost way to access engine and ECU data, this PARANNIC cable provides a simple wired connection between your car’s OBD2 port and an older Windows PC. The cable is designed to work with legacy KKL/409.1 drivers and VAG-COM style software on 32-bit Windows XP systems. It enables standard diagnostic functions without the expense of dealer tools, but it requires the correct software and an environment without antivirus interference.
Connecting the PARANNIC KKL 409.1 cable creates a communication link between your car’s control modules and VCDS-compatible diagnostic software on your PC. Once the proper driver and program are installed, you can scan fault codes, view live data, and perform basic coding and adaptations supported by the software.
This adapter requires a PC running 32-bit Windows XP with KKL/409.1 drivers and VAG-COM compatible diagnostic software. Modern Windows versions (Windows 7/8/10/11) are not supported; antivirus software can block the installer, so you may need to disable or remove it during setup.
The cable is engineered for Volkswagen Group vehicles that use the OBD2 pinout and VAG communication protocols, beginning with 1996 model years onward. It is suitable for many VW, Audi, Seat and Skoda models, but compatibility can vary by module and year—some advanced functions may be limited compared with factory tools.
The cable is plug-and-play in the sense that it connects directly to the vehicle OBD2 port and a PC USB port, but success depends on matching the driver and software environment. Reading the included user manual and following installation steps will reduce issues; if the CD isn’t readable, request the software download from the seller.
Who is this for: The PARANNIC OBD2 KKL 409.1 cable is aimed at DIY mechanics, hobbyists and independent technicians who use legacy Windows XP machines and need an affordable VAG diagnostic link for reading codes, viewing measuring blocks and performing basic adaptations on VW Group cars from 1996 onward. It is not intended for users who require full dealer-level functionality or those running modern Windows operating systems.
Q: Will this cable work on Windows 10?
A: No. The PARANNIC KKL 409.1 only supports 32-bit Windows XP; it does not work with Windows 7, 8, 10 or later.
Q: Can it read and clear fault codes on my VW?
A: Yes. When used with compatible VAG diagnostic software on Windows XP, it can read and clear fault codes and display live sensor data.
