Performance Tool neoprene workbench mat 16 x 35.75 in — chemical-resistant, cushioned with printed conversion charts

The Performance Tool W88977 is a 16 x 35.75-inch neoprene workbench mat that protects surfaces from oils, solvents and dirt while offering cushioned support and printed reference charts.

This neoprene work mat combines a chemical-resistant surface with a soft, thermo-fiber top and 3 mm rubber backing to protect benches, tables and desks from spills and abrasion. Its full-bleed heat-transferred graphics include useful conversion charts and a ruler in both SAE and metric units, so the mat doubles as a quick-reference workstation aid. Finished with stitched edges and a flexible construction, it rolls up for compact storage and resists fraying for long-term use.

How does this mat protect my work surface and tools?

The mat's neoprene construction forms a barrier against solvents, oil, dirt and small parts impact. The 3 mm rubber backing holds the mat in place and reduces the risk of slipping while you work. Its cushioned top helps prevent scratches on delicate components and reduces noise from dropped tools.

• Chemical-resistant neoprene blocks common shop solvents and oils.
• 3 mm rubber backing prevents sliding and cushions impacts.
• Thermo-fiber top reduces scratching on parts and tools.
• Stitched edges stop fraying, extending mat life.

What reference information is printed on the mat and how durable is it?

Long-lasting heat transfer sublimation prints include SAE/metric conversions, fluid and oil-to-gas ratios, plus a ruler with standard and metric markings. Because the graphics are embedded via sublimation rather than surface ink, they withstand regular cleaning and repeated contact without peeling. The stitched perimeter further protects the printed area from edge wear.

• SAE and metric conversion charts for quick measurements.
• Fluid and oil-to-gas ratio references for common tasks.
• Standard and metric ruler along one edge for fast measuring.
• Sublimation printing resists abrasion and cleaning chemicals.

How comfortable and stable is the mat during hands-on work?

The thermo-fiber top creates a firm-yet-cushioned feel that supports small parts and tools while reducing hand and wrist fatigue during extended tasks. The non-slip rubber backing secures the mat in place on smooth benches or tables, minimizing shifting when you apply force or reach for tools. Its 1/8-inch thickness balances padding with stability for precise tasks.

• Firm-cushioned surface supports precision work and small parts.
• Non-slip 3 mm backing maintains placement under pressure.
• 1/8-inch thickness offers both protection and control.
• Flexible material lets it roll up for storage when not in use.

How do I store and maintain this neoprene work mat?

The mat's flexible neoprene construction rolls easily for compact storage, saving bench or garage space. It cleans with mild soap and water; avoid harsh abrasives or prolonged exposure to extreme heat. The fully stitched edge resists fraying so you can use and clean it frequently while maintaining a neat appearance.

• Rolls up for space-saving storage in drawers or shelves.
• Cleans with mild detergent and a soft cloth; rinse and air dry.
• Avoid direct heat sources and harsh solvents for longevity.
• Stitched edges prevent unraveling after repeated use.

Who is this for? The Performance Tool W88977 is ideal for mechanics, hobbyists, electronics technicians, and DIYers who need a durable, chemical-resistant work surface with handy reference data. It suits home garages, professional benches, craft tables and even kitchen prep areas where protection from spills and a cushioned work area matter. If you want a roll-up mat that keeps small parts visible, provides quick measurement help and stands up to shop fluids, this mat is a practical addition to your workspace.
