Proven Industries Trailer Coupler Lock 2-Inch Heavy-Duty Anti-Theft Hitch Lock with Stainless Pin

Proven Locks S175 is a heavy-duty 2-inch coupler lock that secures your trailer, boat, or RV by blocking the hitch and preventing unauthorized towing. Protecting trailers and towable gear starts with a visible, mechanically robust hitch lock. The Proven Locks S175 is engineered to fit select 2-inch trailer couplers and combines a stainless-steel locking pin with a ductile-iron body to resist cutting, prying, and tampering. A black powder-coated exterior improves weather resistance and hides scratches from everyday use while an exclusive key system reduces the risk of lock picking and unauthorized key duplication.

How does the S175 stop thieves from towing my trailer?

The S175 physically blocks the coupler from engaging a hitch ball and uses a thick stainless-steel pin secured inside a ductile-iron housing to resist force. The coated exterior helps prevent hand tools from gaining purchase, and the shape is designed to deny crowbars and bolt cutters effective leverage.

• Solid stainless-steel locking pin resistant to bending and sawing
• Ductile-iron shell disperses impact force
• Low-profile shape reduces leverage points for prying
• Black powder-coat for corrosion protection and durability

Will this lock fit my trailer or boat coupler?

The Proven Locks S175 is crafted specifically for standard 2-inch trailer couplers—check your coupler measurements before purchasing. It is tailored to mount securely on compatible coupler shapes; mismatched sizes or nonstandard couplers may not provide a correct fit.

• Designed for 2-inch diameter coupler openings
• Not universal—verify your trailer coupler dimensions
• Works with most common trailers, boats, and small RV tow couplers that match size
• Installation requires aligning the lock with the coupler latch and engaging the locking pin

How secure is the key and locking mechanism?

The S175 uses a unique key profile and an internal locking design to make picking and unauthorized duplication difficult. The keyway and internal components are configured to reduce common attack methods; still, no mechanical lock is completely impervious, so it should be one layer in a broader security approach.

• Unique key design reduces ease of picking
• Internal locking mechanism prevents simple key copying
• Durable components designed for regular outdoor use
• Store spare keys securely and restrict access to trusted users

How does the S175 hold up outdoors and with regular use?

The lock’s materials and finish prioritize corrosion resistance and wear tolerance for trailer and marine use. The stainless-steel pin resists rust while the powder-coated ductile-iron exterior protects against chips and surface corrosion from road debris and salt spray.

• Stainless-steel pin resists corrosion and retains strength
• Powder-coated body reduces surface rust and wear
• Robust construction stands up to roadside knocks and routine handling
• Periodic lubrication of the keyway extends service life

Who is this for The Proven Locks S175 is aimed at boat owners, RV enthusiasts, and trailer users who want a visible, mechanically robust deterrent for 2-inch couplers. It suits people who need a compact, heavy-duty solution that resists common theft tools and environmental wear—ideal when combined with good storage practices and additional security measures like wheel locks or alarmed systems. Verify coupler compatibility before ordering to ensure a secure fit and effective protection.
