Red Line 80319 Liquid Synthetic Assembly Lube is a 12-ounce, high–film-strength liquid formula designed to protect metal surfaces during engine assembly and long-term storage without clogging oil filters on initial startup.
When building or servicing engines, components need protection from dry start wear and corrosion before normal lubrication systems become fully effective. This liquid version of Red Line's proven assembly chemistry gives you the same protective qualities found in their paste products but in a pourable, easy-to-apply form. It’s formulated to leave a durable film that resists metal-to-metal contact, inhibit rust during storage, and avoid the filtration problems some heavy greases cause after first engine run.
The liquid formula creates a continuous coating on bearing surfaces, cam lobes, lifters, and fasteners to reduce friction and wear while an engine is started for the first time. Its synthetic base delivers greater film strength than conventional moly greases, maintaining boundary lubrication until the oiling system is fully pressurized.
No—this formulation was developed to avoid dropping particulate sulfides or greases into the oil stream that can block filters. Unlike heavier paste or thick greases, the liquid chemistry stays in place where applied and disperses without forming harmful filter-clogging residues during first circulation.
Red Line’s liquid assembly lube delivers approximately three times the film strength of standard black molybdenum disulfide greases, so it sustains protective boundaries under load more effectively. Additionally, its liquid form improves application speed and coverage for complex assemblies and small parts where paste greases are cumbersome.
This product is excellent for most internal engine parts and storage protection, but it is not intended as a high-temperature anti-seize. Avoid using it on exhaust bolts, studs, or other hardware that requires specialty high-temperature anti-seize compounds.
Who is this for? Mechanics, engine builders, restoration specialists, and DIY enthusiasts who need a reliable, easy-to-apply assembly lube will appreciate this Red Line liquid formula. It’s particularly useful when you want strong initial protection without the mess of paste greases or the risk of clogging oil filters—also suitable for prepping parts for long-term storage or shipment. For high-temperature fastening tasks, complement this product with a proper anti-seize.
Features:
Q: Can I use this on valve stems and lifters?
A: Yes. It’s designed for internal engine parts like valve stems and lifters to prevent wear until oil pressure builds.
Q: Is this safe for modern oil filters at first start?
A: Yes. The liquid formula is developed not to plug filters during initial engine circulation when used as directed.
