Ristow 12V Macerator Pump for RVs, 12 GPM Self-Priming — Stainless Blades & Thermal Protection

Ristow's 12V 12 GPM macerator pump is a self-priming RV sewage pump that grinds and moves waste quickly for faster tank emptying and longer discharge runs.

This compact macerator kit is built for RVers who need a dependable 12-volt solution for emptying gray and black water tanks. With a 12 GPM (45 LPM) flow rating, stainless-steel cutting blades, and thermal/run-dry protection, the pump is designed for routine dumping, remote discharge, and occasional off-grid use from a vehicle cigarette lighter or battery clips. The kit includes the most-used fittings and hoses to simplify installation and get you dumping sooner.

How fast will this pump empty my RV tank?

The Ristow macerator delivers up to 12 gallons per minute (45 LPM), so a typical 150 L (about 40 gallon) tank can be emptied in roughly five minutes under ideal conditions. Actual speed varies with lift height, hose length, and hose diameter.

• Rated flow: 12 GPM / 45 LPM
• Example: 150 L tank ≈ 5 minutes to empty
• Performance affected by lift up to 10 ft and hose routing

What kind of solids can it handle and how does the macerator work?

The unit uses four stainless-steel spiral blades to cut solids into much smaller particles—down to about 1/8 inch (4 mm) maximum—so liquid and small solids pass through hoses without clogging. Avoid flushing non-biodegradable items that can jam the cutter.

• Stainless-steel spiral blades for efficient grinding
• Reduces solids to roughly 4 mm maximum for smoother discharge
• Do not use for large hard objects, sanitary napkins, or rags

How is the pump powered and what protections are built in?

The pump runs from 12V DC and includes a cigarette lighter cable as well as alligator clip leads for battery connection. The motor features thermal protection and run-dry safeguards to prevent damage during intermittent use.

• 12V DC operation—cigarette lighter cable and alligator clips included
• 100% copper motor for efficient, low-noise operation
• Thermal and run-dry protection with recommended intermittent duty cycle

What comes in the kit and is installation difficult?

The kit arrives with the pump plus common connectors so you can start using it right away. Basic hand tools are usually sufficient; the included hose, clamps and adapter make most installations straightforward for an RV owner comfortable with simple plumbing tasks.

• Includes pump, on/off connector with valve for freshwater port, and hose adapter
• Power accessories: 7.6 ft cigarette lighter cable and 1.3 ft alligator clip wires
• Comes with 10" transparent hose, GHT connector, 2 hose clamps, and manual

Who is this for? The Ristow 12V macerator pump suits RV owners, solo campers, and seasonal travelers who need a fast, portable way to empty gray and black water tanks without relying solely on campground sewer hookups. It's a practical choice for those who want a compact, self-priming pump with included fittings for quick setup, but it’s not intended for continuous industrial use or for pumping large, non-degradable items.
