Rough Country Forged Upper Control Arms (19401A) are one-piece forged-aluminum replacement arms engineered to provide stronger, longer-lasting steering and suspension performance for lifted 2007–2018 Chevy and GMC trucks and SUVs.
This forged upper control arm kit is built for lift-specific suspensions, combining a solid one-piece forged aluminum construction with oversized POM ball joints and greaseable rubber bushings to resist wear and maintain alignment under heavy loads. Designed for use with 2.5–3.5-inch suspension lifts and compatible Rough Country knuckle and bracket kits, the 19401A replaces stock arms with a bolt-on installation that supports on-vehicle serviceability and long-term durability.
The single-piece forged aluminum construction eliminates welded joints that can become stress concentrators, giving the arm a higher resistance to bending and fatigue. Forging aligns the metal grain and produces a denser, more reliable structure compared with cast or welded arms.
Rough Country uses POM (polyoxymethylene) ball races to reduce metal-to-metal friction, improving durability and lowering maintenance needs versus traditional metal-on-metal joints. The oversized ball diameter increases load capacity and range of motion, especially important when steering geometry changes after lifting a vehicle.
Installation is a 100% bolt-on process—no frame modification required—so an experienced home mechanic can complete the job. Rough Country estimates roughly 3–4 hours for the full installation when following the supplied instructions and using common shop tools.
This kit is optimized for Chevy and GMC full-size trucks and SUVs from 2007–2018 that run 2.5–3.5-inch lift kits or Rough Country knuckle/bracket lift systems. It is not intended for stock-height models, certain "Classic" 2007 body-style trucks, or vehicles fitted with 3.5-inch knuckle, 5-inch, or 6-inch lift kits.
Who is this for? This Rough Country Forged Upper Control Arm kit is aimed at owners of lifted Chevy and GMC full-size trucks and SUVs who need a stronger, longer-lasting upper arm to preserve steering geometry and handle heavier loads or off-road abuse. Choose this kit if you want a bolt-on upgrade with greaseable joints, OEM-style bushings, and backed support from Rough Country, and be sure the vehicle and lift combination matches the listed compatibilities before purchase.
Q: Will these arms fit my stock-height 2014 Silverado?
A: No. The 19401A is designed for 2.5–3.5" lift setups and select Rough Country knuckle/bracket kits, not stock-height models.
Q: Do the ball joints need service before driving?
A: Yes. The POM ball joints must be greased prior to first use and are fully serviceable thereafter.
