TCHENPART Upgrade 67605 Valve Spring Compressor is a dedicated engine tool that compresses and removes valve springs and lets you pressurize cylinders via a holding hose for LS-series V8 engines.
This compact kit is engineered for on-engine valve service on GM LS-family engines (4.8L–6.2L) and combines a mechanical spring compressor with an air valve holding hose so you can keep valves seated while changing springs or seals. The tool threads into the spark plug hole, uses cylinder air pressure to keep the valve closed, and mechanically compresses the retainer — a workflow designed to save time and reduce the need for head removal.
The compressor clamps onto the valve spring retainer while the cylinder is pressurized, allowing one person to safely compress and remove retainers without removing the cylinder head. The design keeps the spring under control and reduces the risk of dropped parts.
This kit is built to work with GM LS-series V8 engines in the 4.8L–6.2L range, covering common variants like LS1, LS2, LS3, LS6 and LSX. It’s compatible with many GM models, but it does not fit LT1 Gen-V engines — verify your engine code before purchasing.
Set the cylinder to top dead center (TDC) for the cylinder being serviced, thread the adapter into the spark plug hole, and apply compressed air to keep the valve seated. Maintain steady, appropriate air pressure and always wear eye protection while compressing or removing springs.
The tool is constructed to withstand workshop conditions; light lubrication on threaded parts extends life and improves function. The manufacturer offers unconditional replacement or refund if you are not fully satisfied, plus customer support for usage questions.
Who is this for: This TCHENPART kit is aimed at professional mechanics and experienced DIYers working on GM LS-series V8 engines who want a cost-effective way to change valve springs, retainers, or valve stem seals without removing cylinder heads. If you need reliable on-engine compression and a holding hose to pressurize cylinders during valve service — and your engine is within the compatible LS range — this tool offers a practical, time-saving solution.
Q: Will this tool work on my LS3 6.2L Corvette engine?
A: Yes — the kit supports LS3 6.2L engines used in many Corvettes, but it is not compatible with LT1 Gen‑V engines.
Q: Do I need special air pressure or fittings to use the holding hose?
A: Use a standard shop air supply and fittings; maintain steady, moderate cylinder pressure and follow safety precautions.
