Thetford RV Black Streak & Bug Remover 64 oz — Concentrated Biodegradable Cleaner Safe on Gelcoat

Thetford Premium RV Black Streak & Bug Remover is a concentrated, biodegradable cleaner formulated to lift black streaks, sun-baked bugs and other stubborn soils from RVs, boats, and other vehicles without harming gel coat or decals.

Designed for vehicles and outdoor equipment, this 64 oz formula targets the kinds of dark streaks and insect residue that gather along seams, roofs, and lower panels. The cleaner uses alkaline detergents to break down grime while remaining non-flammable and fully biodegradable. Because the formula is strong, it’s recommended to test on a small, inconspicuous area first and follow application guidance for best, safest results.

How does it remove tough black streaks and bug residue?

Thetford’s cleaner penetrates and lifts accumulated carbon and organic debris using an alkaline-based detergent system that breaks the bond between soil and surface. It’s engineered to soften and dissolve dried insects and streaks so they can be wiped away without heavy abrasion.

• Alkaline detergents dissolve baked-on organic material
• Gel-like consistency clings to vertical surfaces for better contact time
• Formulated to reduce the need for aggressive scrubbing

Is it safe for RV gel coat, decals and trim?

The cleaner is formulated to be safe on gel coats, fiberglass, painted aluminum and common RV decals when used as directed. Since it’s an aggressive cleaner, you should spot-test older, weathered, or sensitive surfaces before broad application to confirm compatibility.

• Suitable for gel coat, painted metals, and fiberglass
• Spot-test recommended on aged or delicate finishes
• Avoid prolonged contact with rubber seals; rinse if contact occurs

How do I apply Thetford Black Streak & Bug Remover for best results?

Work on a cool, shaded surface and start by removing loose dirt or heavy debris. Apply the product to the stained area, allow brief dwell time, agitate lightly with a soft cloth or sponge, then wipe and rinse as needed depending on soil level.

• Clean surface first to remove grit that can scratch
• Spray or apply with cloth; let sit briefly for stubborn stains
• Wipe with clean cloth or sponge and rinse heavier soils as required

Can I use it on boats, cars, and ATVs too?

Yes—this formula was developed for a wide range of vehicles including boats, cars, trucks, motorcycles and off-road equipment. Its non-flammable, biodegradable composition makes it versatile for multiple applications, though always follow the spot-test guidance for unfamiliar surfaces.

• Effective across RVs, boats, cars, trucks, motorcycles and ATVs
• Non-toxic and 100% biodegradable for eco-aware cleaning
• Works on vertical and horizontal panels with minimal runoff

Who is this product for? Thetford Premium RV Black Streak & Bug Remover is aimed at RV owners, boaters, fleet managers and outdoor-vehicle enthusiasts who want a powerful, biodegradable cleaner that removes streaks and insect residue without resorting to harsh solvents. It’s especially useful for seasonal cleanup, pre-wax preparation, and maintenance on fiberglass and painted exteriors. If you maintain older or delicate finishes, perform a small-area compatibility test before full application to preserve seals and decals.
