Traxion Tailgate Ladder for Pickup Trucks, Fits 28–42 in Tailgates, Black — 300 lb Capacity, Foldable Step

Traxion 5-100 Tailgate Ladder is a foldable, heavy-duty step system that mounts to most 28–42 inch pickup tailgates to make climbing into the truck bed safer and easier. The Traxion tailgate ladder installs to a wide range of pickups and folds flat against the tailgate when not in use, keeping the bed clear for cargo. Engineered with durable components and a 300 lb total weight capacity, this ladder reduces the strain and awkwardness of hauling equipment or supplies in and out of the truck. Before ordering, confirm your tailgate height and vehicle compatibility—this unit is not supported for Dodge RamBox, Chevrolet Avalanche, or Cadillac Escalade models.

How quickly and easily does the ladder deploy?

The Traxion ladder swings into place in seconds and locks into a stable step position so you can access the bed without awkward climbing. When finished, it folds neatly against the tailgate to stay out of the way of cargo and loading activities.

• Single-handed swing deployment for fast access
• Folds flat to preserve bed space
• Secure locking position prevents accidental collapse

What trucks and tailgates will this ladder fit?

This ladder is designed for most pickup tailgates with heights between 28 and 42 inches, offering near-universal compatibility across many makes and models. Note that mounting plate screw hole usage varies by tailgate: only half of the provided holes are typically needed and optimal mounting holes may require drilling 0.14 inch pilot holes in recommended locations.

• Compatible with most standard 28–42 in. tailgates
• Not compatible with Dodge RamBox, Chevy Avalanche, Cadillac Escalade
• Mounting requires selected screw locations and possible drilling

How strong and durable is the Traxion ladder?

Built with heavy-duty materials and hardware, the ladder supports up to 300 lb total capacity and is engineered to withstand regular use around tools, cargo, and outdoor gear. Components are finished to resist wear so the ladder continues to function smoothly over time.

• 300 lb total weight capacity for safe loading
• Robust hinges and support structure for frequent use
• Durable black finish resists corrosion and wear

What should I know about installation and support?

The ladder ships with a universal mounting plate and instructions, but Traxion does not provide vehicle-specific installation support. Depending on your tailgate, you may only use half the holes in the plate and should drill six pilot holes in the optimal front and back plate locations as recommended.

• At-home installation with supplied instructions
• Optimal screw placement may differ by tailgate model
• Manufacturer does not support installation on certain vehicles listed above

Who is this for: The Traxion 5-100 tailgate ladder is aimed at pickup owners who frequently access their truck bed and want a safer, less strenuous way to climb in — contractors, outdoor enthusiasts, weekend DIYers, and fleet vehicles. If you need quick, fold-away access with a high load capacity and broad fitment across tailgate heights, this ladder provides a practical, long-lasting solution. Confirm your specific tailgate height and vehicle compatibility before purchase to ensure proper fit.
