VViViD Black Gloss Vinyl Tape 4in x 20ft — Air-Release, Heat-Activated Adhesive for Chrome Deletes & Trim

VViViD Black Gloss Air-Release Adhesive Vinyl Tape Roll is a 4-inch by 20-foot, high-gloss automotive-grade tape designed for easy chrome deletes, pinstriping, and trim detailing without bubbles or repositioning frustration.

This air-release vinyl tape from VViViD delivers a glossy, scratch-resistant finish intended for automotive accents, architectural trim, and DIY projects. The roll’s heat-activated adhesive allows lift-and-reposition during placement, while the integrated air-release channels reduce bubbling and creasing for cleaner results. It’s offered in a standard 4" width on a 20-foot roll, giving enough material for multiple trim runs or smaller wrap jobs.

How does this tape make chrome deletes and pinstriping easier?

The VViViD Black Gloss tape is pre-sized for trim work and designed to conform to edges and low-curvature surfaces. Its air-release adhesive enables smooth squeegeeing and fewer trapped air pockets, and the heat activation improves final adhesion once positioned.

• Pre-cut 4" width ideal for many trim pieces and moldings
• Air-release channels minimize bubbles during application
• Heat-activated adhesive allows repositioning before final set
• High-gloss finish matches factory-style trims

What surfaces and applications work best with this vinyl tape?

Use this tape on painted metal, plastic trim, glass edges, and smooth architectural surfaces. It’s suited for cosmetic trim changes, accent stripes, and protective detailing where low- to moderate-flex conformity is required.

• Automotive trim: door moldings, emblems, mirror caps
• Interior accents: dash trim and console highlights
• Architectural uses: window surrounds and metal edging
• DIY projects: craft accents and temporary styling

How durable is the finish and what maintenance does it need?

The film is formulated to resist scratching, grime, and UV exposure for multiple years with normal care. Routine washing with mild soap and avoiding abrasive cleaners will help preserve the glossy look; heat helps the adhesive fully set for long-term adhesion.

• Scratch- and grime-resistant surface for lasting sheen
• Expected lifespan of several years under typical conditions
• Clean with gentle automotive soaps; avoid harsh solvents
• Use moderate heat to activate and secure the adhesive

What tools and techniques make installation clean and fast?

Basic tools and a careful technique produce the best results. Use a squeegee or firm card to press film, a heat gun for activation and conforming, and sharp trimming tools to finish edges precisely.

• Squeegee for removing air and smoothing film
• Heat gun to aid adhesion and contour around curves
• Sharp knife or trim tool for precise edge cuts
• Isopropyl alcohol for surface prep and final cleaning
