VViViD Clear Paint Protection Film 4" x 48" (8mil) — 3M Scotchgard Clear PPF Strip with Toolkit

VViViD 3M Clear Paint Protection Vinyl Film is an 8mil, optically clear polyurethane strip that protects vehicle paint from chips and scratches while remaining virtually invisible.

This 4-inch-wide by 48-inch-long roll of clear paint protection film combines 3M Scotchgard performance with VViViD convenience: a pressure-sensitive adhesive backing for easy application plus a starter toolkit to help you smooth edges and reduce surface marks. It’s designed for targeted protection of high-impact zones—door edges, mirror caps, rocker panels, and leading edges—without changing your car’s finish or color.

How will this film protect my car’s paint during daily driving?

The film absorbs and deflects the small impacts that normally chip and scratch paint from road debris, gravel, and everyday contact. Because it sits on top of your factory finish, it takes damage while keeping the original paint intact.

• 8mil thick polyurethane layer resists abrasions and small stone impacts
• Clear, low-gloss surface maintains factory appearance
• Adhesive backing bonds to painted panels for long-lasting coverage
• Easy to trim for precise edge coverage on vulnerable areas

Is the film difficult to apply and what tools are included?

The strip is intended for DIY spot protection and installs without specialized shop equipment. The package includes a VViViD Toolkit—a yellow detailer squeegee and two felt decals—to help seat the film and avoid scratch marks during smoothing.

• Toolkit includes squeegee for air-bubble removal
• Felt decals protect film surface from squeegee wear
• Pressure-sensitive adhesive simplifies placement and repositioning during install

Will the film be noticeable or alter my car’s finish?

No — the material is engineered to be optically clear so it blends with existing paint. The low-profile 8mil thickness sits discreetly on panels and resists yellowing, helping preserve visual continuity with your vehicle’s finish.

• Scotchgard technology offers transparent protection
• Designed to minimize reflections and edge visibility
• Maintains original paint color and sheen when installed correctly

How should I choose size and where is this strip most useful?

Pick the width and length that best match the area you want to protect; this listing is a 4" by 48" roll ideal for linear zones. It’s well suited for door edges, bumper lips, mirror housings, and sill edges where localized damage is common.

• 4" width covers mirror caps, door edges, and bumper crowns
• 48" length allows multiple cuts for different panels
• Trim-to-fit capability makes it adaptable to curved or straight surfaces

Who is this for: This VViViD 3M clear paint protection film is suited for car owners and DIY enthusiasts who want affordable, targeted protection for high-wear areas without altering appearance. It’s ideal if you want to prevent everyday chips and scratches on frequently exposed edges, prefer a do-it-yourself install with basic tools, or need a transparent solution to keep factory paint looking newer between professional services.
