XMK RV Skylight Replacement Outer Dome 18" x 26" for 14" x 22" Opening — UV‑Coated Polycarbonate, Impact‑Resistant

Lightweight, impact-resistant 18" x 26" polycarbonate outer skylight dome that replaces standard 14" x 22" RV openings to brighten interiors while resisting UV and weather.

Upgrade your RV with a durable outer skylight designed to fit the common 14" x 22" roof opening. The XMK 18" x 26" replacement dome is molded from thicker polycarbonate, coated for UV protection and built to withstand temperature swings, wind and impact better than fragile glass. It comes in multiple tint options to balance brightness and heat control and includes pre-drilled mounting points to simplify installation.

How does this skylight improve interior light and comfort?

The XMK dome brings daylight into compact spaces without forcing you to keep the roof open. Tinted options filter harsh sunlight while clear and white variants maximize natural illumination. That reduces reliance on interior lights and helps maintain a steady cabin temperature.

• Fits the standard 14" x 22" roof opening while covering with an 18" x 26" outer flange.
• Available in smoke gray, tawny, white, clear and dark blue tints.
• UV-coated surface to limit fading and sun damage inside the RV.
• Allows daytime skylight views and nighttime stargazing when applicable.

Is the XMK dome durable enough for outdoor use on an RV roof?

Yes — the cover is constructed from reinforced polycarbonate chosen for impact resistance and long-term outdoor performance. It resists cracking under thermal stress and stands up to wind and light debris better than standard acrylic or thin plastics.

• Thicker polycarbonate construction for improved impact resistance.
• High-temperature tolerance to resist warping in heat.
• UV protection layer to slow degradation from sun exposure.
• Wide flange helps distribute wind and storm loads on the roof surface.

How difficult is installation and what tools or materials are required?

Installation is straightforward for anyone comfortable with basic RV maintenance. The dome includes pre-drilled mount locations and is lighter than glass, making handling and positioning easier. For a reliable, leak-free seal use a compatible skylight or RV roof sealant when fastening the dome to the roof flange.

• Pre-drilled holes for simpler alignment and mounting.
• Lighter weight than glass for safer handling during installation.
• Recommended: skylight sealant or RV roof caulk to prevent leaks.
• Some drilling might be required to match your existing flange holes.

Which color should I pick and what effect does tinting have?

Choose tint based on how much light and heat control you want. Smoke gray and tawny reduce solar heat gain while permitting comfortable daylight; white and clear maximize brightness; dark blue offers a subtle sky view while limiting glare.

• Smoke gray: reduces heat and harsh sunlight while still brightening interiors.
• Tawny: filters intense summer sun for a warmer interior tone.
• White/clear: best when maximum daylight is desired.
• Dark blue: aesthetic sky tint with reduced glare.

Who is this for: The XMK 18" x 26" outer skylight dome is aimed at RV owners, camper renovators and service technicians who need a robust, easy-to-install replacement for a 14" x 22" opening. It fits travel trailers, motorhomes, fifth wheels and campers where a stronger, weather-ready polycarbonate dome is preferred over glass or thin plastics.
