This compact press tool is engineered to make installing and removing clip-style master links faster and more controllable than hammer-and-punch methods. Made from aluminum alloy and supplied with an Allen wrench, the tool threads onto the master link pin and uses a screw-action platen to seat or remove the plate with steady pressure. It’s designed for Drag Specialties-style master link plates and fits all 5-series chains, with a modification option for 530 chains described below.
The WnSEu press tool converts an imprecise tapping job into a controlled, screw-driven press that reduces the risk of bent plates or damaged pins. Its threaded spindle advances smoothly so you can feel when the plate seats, improving repeatability and conserving parts.
Out of the box the tool is optimized for 520 and 525 series chains; 530 master links are often thicker and may not seat without additional clearance. If you need to use it on some 530 links, a measured grinding of the contact face is a known workaround—only perform this if you are comfortable with tool modification.
The unit is machined from high-quality aluminum alloy for a balance of strength and lightness, and the turned surfaces align the master link during pressing. The included Allen wrench secures the screw assembly and removes the need for additional hand tools in most situations.
Set the chain and master link in the tool so the plate aligns with the pressing face, then advance the screw until the plate seats. Avoid over-torquing and inspect both the link and tool surfaces for wear after each use. Keep threads lightly lubricated and store in a dry place.
Who is this for: Technicians, home mechanics, and motorcycle DIYers who work on Drag Specialties and similar 5-series clip-type chains will appreciate the control and repeatability this press tool provides. It’s especially useful when you want a cleaner, less forceful method than hammering, and for mobile mechanics who prefer a lightweight, complete tool that includes the necessary Allen wrench. If you routinely install 530 links without modifying tools, consider confirming fit first or using a specialized 530-rated press.
Q: Does this tool fit 520, 525, and 530 chains?
A: It fits 520 and 525 chains out of the box; 530 chains may require grinding about 3–4 mm on the pressing side for fit.
Q: Is any extra hardware needed to use the tool?
A: No extra tools are required—the press includes an Allen wrench for assembly and adjustment.
